Holy rawhide it's been a while since we've been here. Life is tough, we are busy...guarding our house is a full-time job you know.
Goal for 2009: Learn to swim.
While dear Dixie is more courageous about going in the water, once in, she slaps at the water and doesn't get far. I, on the other hand, Kona Bear Extraordinaire find nothing extraordinary about the water and would much prefer to lay on the cool muddy banks. But man that water looks good. So Mom, Dad, can you please teach us how to swim already?

Cats
It has been said that the cat is the mortal enemy of the dog. Well, we would not agree that the cat is the mortal enemy...that distinction goes to the vacuum. However, when we see cats, something in us starts ticking and we just have to go after them.
This is where living inside a small yard has its downfalls. Not five minutes ago, we were sitting in the living room with our mom while she ate her breakfast and worked on the computer when Kona spied a cat on the fence.
Oh snap! A cat on the fence! We're so gonna get her. Mom leaves the back door open on cool mornings while she does things in the kitchen and living room, so we are free to go in and out as we please...and man did we please to go out!
Kona bolted outside, but slightly misjudged her jump for the cat on the fence and ended up body slamming the fence.
That's one way to solve a cat problem. Arf!
After the commotion, Dixie quickly went outside. Now, some people may think that I, Dixie, am no the brightest in the bunch. But seriously, who's body slamming themselves into fences and who is perfectly warm and content, laying cozily on a cowhide rug?

Hello
Hi! I am Kona Waters. And this is my sister Dixie waters. Collectively, we are also known as The Girls, Crazy Dogs, Pooper Dogs, Babies. Individually, we each have a plethora of nick-names. Our people are Michael and Erika Waters and we think that they are a little crazy. For example, about a year ago, they decided to buy us a new house. I think they think they own the place. Boy are they fooled! But seriously, our new house is awesome! We have stairs and lots of windows which is good because we are excellent guard dogs. You may be fooled and think that we are sweet girlie dogs, but don't be deceived, we're from the streets. I was discovered in a box on the side of the road. That's right I said it. A box. I survived on my own in a box when I was only 2 weeks old. My sister Dixie was in and out of the foster home scene...getting abused and neglected. Don't let that shy facade trick you--she is scrappy.
On this blog, we tell you the stories of our lives and the lives of our people. Every few weeks we will have a Dog of the Day feature. Want to be a star? Just send us your picture and your bio and you might get to be Dog of the Day. We will also give away Golden Bone awards to different dogs and humans that might do something deserving.
Bascially, even the blogging world has gone to the dogs! And we'll tell you what life is really like behind the fence.
